Register today for this 4 half day course providing an introduction to the theory and practical aspects of ERCP training. Over the course of 3 half-days live tuition (and 1 half-day pre-course learning material) we provide an introduction to the theory and practical aspects of ERCP training covering pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure topics.

 

Although not a hands-on course, the format will be based on recorded cases to highlight the different learning points, with the final session covering four long cases to bring together the prior learning. 

 

Delegate numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 delegates to allow intensive discussions with our expert faculty


Requirements

  • Trainees should be in the early stages of ERCP training and based in the UK
  • Attendees should be certified for diagnostic OGD and have experience for upper GI therapeutic endoscopy
  • A statement of support for the course should be provided from a current trainer confirming the trainee has commenced ERCP training

Conference Schedule

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the clinical management of jaundiced patients and the role of ERCP
  • Utilise sedation and anaesthesia safely
  • Interpret a range of pahthologies on cholangiogram and pancreatogram obtained via ERCP
  • Describe radiology imaging interpretation relevant to ERCP practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of indication of ERCP, complications and risk reduction strategies 
  • Understand basic techniques endoscope handling and intubation with side-viewing duodenoscope 
  • Understand basic techniques for cannulation and sphincterotomy demonstrated 
  • Use methods for selective cannulation when initial methods have failed 
  • Determine the appropriate choice of biliary stent for a given indication
  • Demonstrate knowledge of “on the spot” clinical management decisions of jaundiced patients
